The Jerome Boys Basketball team locked up the regular season conference championship and secured the #1 seed in the district tourney by beating Wood River 59-39 on Thursday night. The tigers were led by seniors Toby Justice, Dillon Reading and Alfredo Ortiz as they capped off their last regular season home game as seniors. The trio were honored at the start of the game for their dedication and commitment to the tiger basketball program over the last four years. Junior Mikey Lloyd led the boys in scoring with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Alfred Ortiz chipped in 15 points and Junior Evan Sheffield and Sophomore Josh Arevalo added 7 points apiece. Other tigers to score included: Colton Elison 4, Gavin Capps 4, Keenan Blair 2. The tiger boys ended the regular season with an impressive 18-2 record (11-1 Conference). The boys will receive a 1st round bye to start the Great Basin Tournament. The district tourney 1st round games begin on Tuesday, February 16. The Tigers will host the winner out of seed #4 and seed #5 on Thursday, February 18th at home. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 pm.
